US-based search engine Google’s corporate venturing unit has helped Smarterer, a US-based skills testing website, raise $1.75m.
Google Ventures was joined in the series A round by True Ventures, which led the round, as well as a dozen angel investors. Tony Conrad from True Ventures is joining Smarterer’s board.
Google Ventures also backed Smarterer’s $1.25m seed round last year. The company was founded in October 2010.
Smarterer’s chief executive Jennifer Fremont-Smith said the company had now marked 10 million questions by employees showing their skills to prospective employees.
