InnoLight Technology Corporation, a China-based producer of cloud computing optical transceivers, has closed a $38m series C round co-led by Google Capital, internet company Google’s growth equity unit.
Venture capital firm Lightspeed China Partners also participated in the round, which will be used to expand Innospring’s production capacity in order to keep up with the growth of the cloud computing industry.
Founded in 2008, the company’s past investors include China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Ventures, the investment holding company now known as Oriza Holdings, and VC fund Acorn Campus.
Gene Frantz, general partner at Google Capital, said: “InnoLight’s technology is uniquely suited for next generation data center environments, and its vision and execution have been excellent. As Google Capital’s second investment in Asia and first in China, InnoLight illustrates the kind of company and management team we seek to support.”
