Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous US-listed search engine provider, has set up a designer-in-residence programme for its portfolio companies.
Google Ventures has picked Brian Yeung and Caroline O’Connor as its first two designers-in-residence. Yeung previously worked on software provider Microsoft’s games platform, Xbox, while O’Connor is a faculty member at the Stanford University’s design school.
Braden Kowitz (pictured), design partner at Google Ventures, said: “Over the past three years we’ve built a full-time Design Studio focused on helping companies build better products. Today we’re happy to announce a new designer in residence program to further this goal.
“Through the designer in residence program, we match extraordinary designers with startups and give them space to work together for several months.”
