The corporate venturing arm of search engine Google, Google Ventures, is heading a $1m series A funding of Republic Project, an online cloud-based platform for creating ad campaigns. Republic Project aims to enable agencies and brands to improve brand engagement. It allows anyone to create an ad campaign for a flat fee of $5 thousand.
The A round also saw participation from Silicon Valley based 500 Startups, which provides early-stage companies with up to $250k in funding, Venture51, a seed and early-stage venture fund for Information technology companies, venture capital firm Ludlow Ventures, a early-stage seed and incubator program, and co-founder of Tremor Video, a website which offers in-stream video advertising, Andrew Reis.
Google Ventures also last week led the $1m seed funding of aggregated music news and media website, DJZ. Google Ventures aims to invest up to $100m a year in deal sizes ranging from seed to late-stage investment.
