GoPlay, an online video spinoff of Indonesia-based ride hailing service Gojek, has completed its first funding round, which sources told DealStreetAsia was sized at about $15m.
ZWC Partners and Golden Gate Ventures co-led the round, which was also backed by entertainment producer Ideosource Entertainment, Openspace Ventures and Redbadge Pacific, according to a statement cited by DealStreetAsia.
Launched in September 2019, GoPlay operates an online video streaming platform that combines locally produced films and television shows with videos uploaded by independent filmmakers.
GoPlay is available through the Gojek app together with other spinoff services such as food delivery service GoFood or package delivery provider GoSend. It will use the funding to improve its technology.
