Gradient Ventures, the artificial intelligence fund run by conglomerate Alphabet, has hired Andrew Brackin (pictured left) and Siri Srinivas as partners.
Formed in 2017, Gradient Ventures focuses on AI-driven technologies including deep learning, machine learning, data science, and virtual and augmented reality at seed and series A stages. The unit has more than 100 active portfolio companies.
“As a former founder, I’ve been impressed by how aligned we are with founders, and how much they value the support that we provide,” says Brackin on LinkedIn. “I love working with founders at the idea stage, and am interested in applications of AI in healthcare and legacy industries.”
Before joining Gradient Ventures, Brackin cofounded clinical trial service provider Vial in 2020 and spent nearly four years at the company. He was also head of growth at insurance brokerage company Newfront and job search app Jobr for Business, where he was part of the founding team.
Srinivas, on the other hand, was a principal at venture capital firm Draper Associates, where she spent more than six years focusing on AI companies including Standard AI, Webflow, Near Space Labs and Upliance.AI.
“I will continue looking at startups with a wide aperture – enterprise applications, deeptech, ecommerce, regulated industries, and products and platforms targeted at age-old industries,” says Srinivas on LinkedIn.
