Gree and KLab provide funding reward to Yoyo

Yoyo Holdings, the Singapore-based operator of a range of reward platforms, raised an undisclosed amount of funding today from social gaming company KLab Global and digital media company Gree.

Gree, which invested through its Gree Ventures subsidiary, and KLab were joined in the round by an undisclosed angel investor.

Yoyo operates a platform called Candy, which rewards users for executing small tasks such as filling in surveys or downloading apps, and another service, PopSlide, which provides users with free internet access in return for downloading content. The two apps have accumulated a total of one million users in Southeast Asia.

In conjunction with the funding, Yoyo will also relocate its business operations currently based in Manila, Philippines to the offices of KLab Cyscorpions, a Manila-based subsidiary of KLab Global.

The company previously raised $1.3m in May 2014 from Gree, CyberAgent Ventures, which acts as the corporate venturing arm of internet company CyberAgent, and venture capital firm Incubate Fund.
