Gree Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of Japanese global mobile social company Gree, has invested a reported $2m in the series A round of Singapore-based online cosmetics and skincare store Luxola.
Gree Ventures’ GV-I Investment Partnership has a total of Y2bn ($20.2m) under management and invests in internet start-up companies in south-east and east Asia.
This latest investment joins other e-commerce companies in its portfolio, including Bukalapak.com, an Indonesian online C2C marketplace where people can buy or sell any goods at no cost.
In July 2012, Gree Ventures also invested in PriceArea, Indonesia’s largest price comparison search engine, in a series B round for an undisclosed amount. Sony’s broadband connection service company, So-net, also invested for an undisclosed sum.
So-Net had invested in Incubator Fund backer DeNA in 1999.
