Guanghe Xinzhi chalks up $19m

China-based online education provider Guanghe Xinzhi Technology has raised more than RMB120m ($19m) in series C funding from investors including internet group Tencent, Marbridge Consulting has reported.

Tencent and Legend Capital, the venture capital firm formed by conglomerate Legend Holdings, each provided half of the funding according to Marbridge.

Guanghe Xinzhi has created an online education platform called Yangcong Shuxue with more than 14 million registered users across mobile, tablet and PCs.

The platform covers mathematics and physics, and there are lessons available for pupils aged five to 18. Users receive artificial intelligence-powered guidance while they learn and practise course material in preparation for examinations.

Star VC and Qingsong Fund had co-led a $14.5m series B round for Guanghe Xinzhi in May 2017 that included Frees Fund. The round came after the company had raised a similar amount across angel, series A and series A+ rounds according to Marbridge.
