CareCloud, a US-based provider of healthcare computing, has appointed John Hallock as its vice president of corporate communications, the company disclosed last Tuesday.
CareCloud secured $20.1m in September 2011 from corporate venturing unit Intel Capital and investment firm Norwest Venture Partners. That series A round followed two angel rounds, in which $7.8m was raised from undisclosed entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Hallock joins CareCloud from another healthcare IT company, Athenahealth, where he was director of corporate communications. Prior to Athenahealth, Hallock held positions at public relations agencies Schwartz MSL, Brodeur, Weber Shandwick, and McNeil, Gray & Rice.
Founded in 2009, CareCloud produces web-based software for medical practice management, The software covers revenue management and billing as well as electronic health records.
Hallock said: "As in any industry, older web-based healthcare technology vendors are now challenged with having to simplify their technology and user experience to meet growing client and regulatory demands. With its flexible architecture and patient-centric service line, CareCloud stands to disrupt the status quo and emerge as a leader in championing cloud computing in the healthcare technology industry."
