Indonesia-based online healthcare services platform HaloDoc has raised $65m in a series B round that included telecommunications firm Singtel Group and pharmaceutical firm WuXi AppTec, Temp.co reported yesterday.
The round was led by UOB Venture Management, a subsidiary of financial services firm United Overseas Bank, and also featured venture capital and private equity firm Korea Investment Partners, while Singtel took part through corporate venturing vehicle Singtel Innov8.
Founded in 2016, HaloDoc has developed an online service with more than 2 million users that is provided through a mobile app and website enabling patients to connect with a network of some 20,000 doctors for medical consultations conducted through chat, voice or video calls.
Users can also order medicine and access medical diagnostics services such as home lab tests through the company’s 1,300 partner pharmacies.
HaloDoc plans to use the money to form additional strategic partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers in Indonesia, as well as to develop its technology and infrastructure.
The company has now received approximately $78m in funding altogether, having previously secured $12m in a 2016 series A round.
Investment firm Clermont Group led the 2016 round, which included on-demand ride service Go-Jek, e-commerce company Blibli and NSI Ventures, a VC firm backed by Singaporean state owned investment firm Temasek.
