China-based medical tourism platform Haoeyou raised $40m yesterday in a series A round led by smart building and city technology provider Hakim Unique Internet.
Haoeyou operates an online platform in partnership with US-based healthcare management group California Healthcom that Chinese customers can use to access US-based doctors who then provide consultancy through remote appointments conducted using webcams.
The company offers travel to the US for operations and direct care from more than 1,000 physicians that have registered with the service, and also provides a basis for joint consultations by Chinese and American doctors.
The round was closed at a post-money valuation of $200m. Haoeyou has not disclosed other investors in the round or details on any earlier funding.
