France-headquartered advertising and public relations firm Havas has launched a corporate venturing fund called Havas Ventures to invest in Australia-based startups, Campaign Brief has reported.
Havas Ventures will offer startups capital as well as marketing services from its parent company and consulting services related to their commercial model and business structure.
The unit is headed by Eddie Wilson, who is also a principal at ESW Ventures. It will target early-stage companies that have a working product, established processes and market traction.
Wilson: said: “Some nine out of ten new ventures fail. We also know that considered marketing is so often the key differentiator between [the] success or failure of a business.
“After two years in the making, I am thrilled to finally announce to the market that we have an offering that will help close this gap in a meaningful and productive way.”
