Hello Alfred serves up $40m series B

US-based in-home assistant service provider Hello Alfred has raised $40m in its series B round co-led by real estate developers Divco West and Invesco.

Venture capital firms New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Spark Capital also participated in the round.

Hello Alfred partners residential developers to offer an in-home hospitality service to tenants. The company provides a dedicated assistant to buildings, who manages weekly shops and runs errands with in-home delivery.

Hello Alfred previously raised $10.5m in a series A round co-led by NEA and Spark Capital in 2015, with participation from CrunchFund, an investment vehicle backed by media firm Oath, and Sherpa Ventures. Spark had already injected $2m in seed funding in 2014.

Marcela Sapone, chief executive and co-founder of Hello Alfred, said: “By earning the trust to build help and hospitality into our customers’ homes as if they were utilities, we have become the only company capable of delivering goods and services past the front door at scale.

“We truly believe high-tech, high-touch service inside the home is the future of urban living.”
