Daniel Broger, head of corporate development, strategy and mergers and acquisitions at Switzerland-listed industrial group Orell Füssli, will leave next year to be replaced by Désirée Heutschi, former CEO of consultancy Swiss Startup Factory.
Founded 1519 as a book printer, Orell Füssli is now a diversified industrial and trading group with activities including bank note and security printing, book retail and industrial systems that are used in the individualisation of security documents and branded products.
The company made its first corporate venturing investment under Broger in March this year when it provided an undisclosed amount for Switzerland-based Procivis, developer of a digital identity verification product dubbed eID+.
Heutschi will take over from Broger as Orell’s new head of corporate development, and a member of its executive board, at the end of 2020. She has been CEO of Swiss Startup Factory since 2019 and had previously worked for Microsoft Switzerland for 14 years.
