Highspot hustles $75m in series D1 round

US-based sales optimisation platform developer Highspot raised $75m yesterday in a series D1 round featuring Salesforce Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of customer relationship management software producer Salesforce.

Venture capital firms Madrona Venture Group, Sapphire Ventures and OpenView Venture Partners also took part in the round, as did multi-family office Iconiq Capital.

Founded in 2012, Highspot has developed a software platform helps sales teams improve their performance, applying artificial intelligence and data analytics technologies to provide contextual guidance and strengthen customer engagement.

The series D1 funding will drive technology development for the company in addition to expansion into additional areas, improvement of customer support capabilities and the bolstering of its enterprise services.

Robert Wahbe, Highspot’s chief executive, said: “Our mission to transform the way millions of people work motivates everything we do. We are laser-focused on enabling everyone who engages customers to have conversations that win deals, build loyalty and drive sustainable growth.”

The company said it has now collected in funding $200m altogether, the series D1 investors having joined VC firm Shasta Ventures in a $60m series D round in June this year.

Salesforce Ventures also contributed to a $35m series C round for the company in September 2018 that was led by OpenView and backed by Madrona Venture Group and Shasta Ventures. The latter had led the company’s $15m series B round the year before, investing with Salesforce Ventures and Shasta.
