Hired, a US-based online marketplace that matches people in the technology sector with job opportunities, has secured $15m in a series A round led by venture capital firms Crosslink Capital and Sierra Ventures.
Crosslink and Sierra both invested in Hired’s $2.7m seed round in January 2013 together with Google’s corporate venturing unit Google Ventures, SoftTech VC, New Enterprise Associates and Haystack. The two VC firms were joined in the latest round by SoftTech and Sherpa Ventures.
Hired has offices in San Francisco and New York and plans to open its next one in Los Angeles. The company estimates that more than 200 companies have hired workers they first connected with using the service.
