Hireup, an Australia-based matching service for disabled people and support workers, secured A$40m ($29.5m) in funding from Seek Investments, a vehicle for diversified holding group Seek, on Sunday.
Founded in 2014, Hireup has built a web and mobile platform that helps users with functional diversity and their families to identify and employ disability support workers with similar interests, demographics and locations.
The company will use the money to improve its services, increase headcount across various functions, form strategic partnerships and expand its presence in its home country.
Hireup CEO Jordan O’Reilly said: “Beyond the funding, we have also found the perfect strategic partner in Seek Investments, [which] joins Hireup as a minority shareholder.
“As one of Australia’s leading and most respected technology investors, with decades of experience building Australia’s leading online job search and education companies, the team at Seek Investments have been on a journey we hope to emulate.
“Most importantly, they are also deeply aligned to our purpose, they share our values and are equally committed to advancing the Australian disability sector over the long term.”
