Revital (Tali) Hirsch has joined the US-based medical devices developer Varian Medical Systems after nearly four years as a venture investment director at care provider Fresenius Medical Care North America.
Hirsch will take a director of strategy and corporate development position at Varian to evaluate corporate business opportunities.
Fresenius hired Hirsch in 2018, where she managed venture capital deals. The corporate’s investments include renal care network InterWell Health and patient monitoring builder Retia Medical.
Fresenius provides kidney dialysis services with over 4,000 outpatient dialysis centres. The company recently announced the availability of the CombiSet SmartTech, a single-use integrated bloodline to support fluid dialysis management.
Varian, on the other hand, produces software to treat medical conditions through radiotherapy and proton therapy. In 2021, Siemens Healthineers, the Germany-based medical technology company acquired Varian in a $16.4bn deal to generate a more comprehensive cancer portfolio.
The portfolio companies of Varian include sonic beam therapy developer HistoSonics and ABK Biomedical, which provides cancer treatments for patients with hypervascular tumours.
