Hobsons professes interest in iProf

The capital raised in iProf Learning Solutions India’s $9m series B round of funding led by Hobsons, the education subsidiary of The Daily Mail Group Information, will be allocated to take the company’s product SchoolEra, an automated school management platform, to more schools in India and overseas.

With this round, the total capital raised by iProf has reached $15m. In 2011, it had attracted $6m in a series A round of funding that included IDG Ventures India, private equity firm Norwest Venture Partners and Kaplan Ventures, the venturing unit of US test preparation company Kaplan.

Founded in 2009 by Sanjay Purohit, former managing director of New York restructuring firm LMCO,  iProf provides digital content in both online and offline (pen drive, SD cards, tablet PC & mobile) options to students. In the online mode, students can login into their accounts, access the content based on their grade and subjects, view online notes, download assignments, and take prep tests.
