Homeking reigns in series C round

Haier Capital, the corporate venturing subsidiary of electronics and appliances manufacturer Haier Group, has led an RMB 300m ($44.3m) series C round for China-based housekeeping services platform Homeking, according to 36Kr.

Venture capital group IDG Capital and investment firm Puhua Capital also participated in the round.

Founded in 2010, Homeking provides an online marketplace for domestic services such as home and deep cleaning, cooking and wardrobe arrangement. It formed a partnership with the Philippine Labor Department in April 2018 to launch training courses and a subsidiary in the Philippines.

Homeking also has entered into partnerships with recruitment agencies Filhigh GNS and Ikon Solutions to help bring household-service attendants, teachers and caretakers from the Philippines to work in China.

The company raised $10.3m in a 2015 series B round led by private equity firm SAIF Partners that included Haier and consumer goods retailer Xiamen Comfort Science & Technology Group, according to China Money Network. It has not revealed details of its series A funding.
