US-based care services provider Hometeam has disclosed an $11m series A round raised in 2014 from investors including Recruit Strategic Partners, the corporate venturing arm of marketing and human resources firm Recruit Holdings.
Venture capital firms Lux Capital and IA Ventures also took part in the round.
Hometeam has developed a platform that matches caregivers with elderly people to provide in-home care services.
A dedicated app (pictured) keeps families updated as to their loved ones’ wellbeing and enables them to suggest activities to caregivers that improve the elderly relatives’ quality of life.
The company plans to open 15 offices across nine states over the course of the next year. Hometeam currently has four offices in the Northeastern United States, in addition to its New York headquarters.
Josh Bruno, chief executive of Hometeam, said: “At Hometeam, we imagine what a perfect day looks like for each of our clients and make it come alive with a combination of great mobile technology and the nation’s best caregiving team.
“As we grow, this marriage of technology and high quality in-home care will revolutionise our industry.”
