Norwest Venture Partners, the venture capital firm managing funds on behalf of financial services provider Wells Fargo, led a $22m series B round for US-based event planning service HoneyBook yesterday.
Venture capital firms Aleph and Hillsven also participated in the round, which followed a $10m series A in September 2014 that was led by Aleph, and which also featured Hillsven, UpWest Labs and angel investors including Evan Williams, the co-founder of Twitter.
HoneyBook’s platform enables professionals to collaborate on the events planning process, from booking to collecting payments, through a single interface. The company targets industries such as wedding planning and fashion photography.
The platform has to date been invite-only and limited to San Francisco, but HoneyBook will use the series B funding to expand to all major US cities, and to make it available to more professionals by the end of this year.
