US-based cybersecurity company Hexadite has been acquired by software developer Microsoft for $100m, providing an exit to computer manufacturer Hewlett Packard, according to Globes.
Founded in 2014 by three ex-Israeli intelligence officials, Hexadite uses artificial intelligence to identify potential security breaches before they occur.
Last February, the company closed an $8m series A round featuring Hewlett Packard Ventures, the corporate venturing division of Hewlett Packard, as well as venture capital firms Ten Eleven Ventures and YL Ventures.
In 2014, YL Ventures also took part in Hexadite’s $2.5m seed round, which also included Microsoft vice-president Moshe Lichtman.
