HPE finds path to Keen IO’s series B round

US-based cloud analytics technology provider Keen IO has completed a $14.7m series B round backed by Hewlett Packard Pathfinder, a subsidiary of computing company Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Pelion Venture Partners led the round, which included Sequoia Capital, Rincon Venture Partners, Amplify Partners, Rothenberg Ventures, Techstars, 500 Startups, Heavybit and Galvanize Ventures.

Keen IO has built a cloud analytics platform that can collect, store and analyse custom event data at a large scale. It serves some 3,000 customers across the mobile, gaming, e-commerce, media, internet of things and retail sectors.

Lak Ananth, managing director of Hewlett Packard Pathfinder, said: “As part of Hewlett Packard Pathfinder’s mission, we invest and partner with innovative startups like Keen to help them scale while meeting the needs of our enterprise customers.”

“Keen uniquely addresses the need for our enterprise customers to embed analytics effortlessly and ubiquitously into their applications.”

The round increased Keen IO’s overall funding to $30m since 2011, $11.3m of which came from a July 2014 series A round led by Sequoia that also featured Pelion, Amplify, Rincon, Cloud Power Capital and angel investor Morris Wheeler.
