Rekindle, a US-based social networking app that connects users to each other via common friends, was acquired for an undisclosed amount by marketing and sales software company HubSpot on Tuesday.
The company launched in August 2014 with an undisclosed amount of seed funding from investors including internet company Google’s corporate venturing arm Google Ventures and FKA Atlas, the technology-focused investment arm of venture capital firm Atlas Venture.
Rekindle analyses a user’s social graph and connects them to friends of friends or friends with whom they may not have been in touch for a while. The startup’s team will join HubSpot as full-time employees and relocate to the acquirer’s headquarters.
Brian Halligan, chief executive of HubSpot, said: “As HubSpot grows, we continue to seek out innovative companies and technologies that can help us transform the marketing and sales landscape.
“With Rekindle, we saw a great opportunity for the technology that they have built to help us do that. We are excited for the team to join HubSpot, and look forward to working together, as we expand on our commitment to help our customers grow with our products.”
