US-based enterprise text messaging platform developer Hustle has raised $8m in a series A round featuring Salesforce Ventures and Twilio.org Impact Fund, subsidiaries of enterprise software providers Salesforce and Twilio.
Social Capital led the round, which included Canvas Ventures, Omidyar Network, Designer Fund, Foundation Capital, GSV Acceleration, Higher Ground Labs, Index Ventures, Kapor Capital, Matrix Partners and New Media Ventures.
Founded in 2014, Hustle has built a one-to-one text messaging system that enables organisations to communicate directly with customers or supporters.
The capital will support product development, the expansion of Hustle’s sales and marketing team, and growth in the political and advocacy space in the run up to the 2018 US mid-term elections.
Hustle had previously received $3m in a November 2016 seed round that was also led by Social Capital and backed by Index Ventures, Designer Fund, Canvas Ventures and Matrix Partners.
