i-Plug graduates to IPO

i-Plug, the Japan-based, corporate-backed operator of a new graduates’ recruiting service dubbed OfferBox, has listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE)’s Mothers Market.

The company issued about 13.8 million shares in its initial public offering (IPO) with approximately 241,000 more for the greenshoe option. Daiwa Securities is lead underwriter for the offering

Founded in 2012 by alumni of Globis University’s Graduate School of Management, i-Plug runs recruitment seminars and services for recently graduated professionals.

Globis Alumni Growth Investment, a vehicle for education services provider Globis also known as G-Growth, provided $180,000 in funding in November 2018.

The November funding came seven months after a $3.2m round led by insurer Nippon Life’s Nissay Capital unit and backed by Resona Capital, a venture capital subsidiary of financial services firm Resona, as well as VC firm Future Venture Capital’s Osaka Social Problem Solving Fund.
