Advertising verification provider Integral Ad Science (IAS) purchased US-based advertising payment technology developer Amino Payments for an undisclosed amount yesterday, allowing marketing technology producer You & Mr Jones to exit.
Founded in 2017, Amino uses blockchain and payment technology to track data on digital advertisements and facilitate payments to online publishers.
IAS has bought the company to further invest in programmatic transparency services and had partnered Amino to launch a financial insights and media quality verification platform called Total Visibility in April 2020.
Lisa Utzschneider, IAS’s chief executive, said: “Programmatic advertising continues to grow at a tremendous pace, and with this acquisition we are bringing comprehensive transparency to the entire industry.
“By welcoming Amino Payments to IAS, we will unleash the full potential of programmatic advertising for marketers who need their campaigns to be highly effective and cost-efficient.”
Amino, then known as Curren-C, raised $1.9m in a 2017 round led by First Round Capital, which also led the company’s $4.5m seed round in 2018, investing with You & Mr Jones subsidiary You & Mr Jones Brandtech Ventures, Nyca Investment Fund, Tessera Venture Partners, Auren Hoffman and Tod Sacerdoti.
Western Technology Investment and MathCapital also list Amino as a portfolio company on their respective websites.
