IBM reaches 7Summits for acquisition

7Summits, a US-based consultancy focusing on Salesforce’s customer relationship management platform, has been acquired by computing company IBM for an undisclosed amount, allowing Salesforce to exit.

Founded in 2009, 7Summits is a Salesforce platinum consulting partner and its services include strategic consulting, user experience design and technical expertise.

Harvard University, electrical equipment maker Mitsubishi Electric and data analysis software provider Snowflake are among 7Summits’ clients. IBM made the acquisition to extend its portfolio of Salesforce-based services and support its hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence strategy.

Holton Investments Limited Partnership led a $1m round for 7Summits in 2011, before it secured an undisclosed amount from private equity firm Sverica Capital Management in 2013.

The company raised an undisclosed amount of funding in 2017 from Salesforce’s corporate venturing subsidiary Salesforce Ventures’ cloud consulting-focused $50m SI Trailblazer fund, as well as Sverica Capital Management, 7Summits’ management team and unnamed existing investors.
