US-based digital learning platform Course Hero raised $15m on Tuesday in a series A round featuring IDG Capital, a corporate venturing unit of technology research and media group IDG.
Venture capital firms GSV Capital, SV Angel and Maveron also invested.
Founded in 2006, Course Hero connects college and high school students to online content and tutors, and has built a community of over 5 million users.
The funding will help expand the Course Hero platform as well as expanding its reach and the range of content, tools, and services it provides to students.
The round brought the total raised by the company to $17.4m. Course Hero raised angel and seed funding across three rounds from investors including YouTube co-founder, Steve Chen, SV Angel, Maveron and Great Oaks Venture Capital.
