Takayuki Inagawa will replace Nobuyuki Akimoto as head of NTT Docomo Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of Japan-based phone operator NTT, from the start of July.
Akimoto, one of GCV Rising Stars 2016 – pictured speaking at the Global Corporate Venturing Symposium last month (on left, with Matthew Koertge from Telstra Ventures), said by email: “I am pleased to announce that as of July 1, Mr Takayuki Inagawa is taking over my responsibility of NTT Docomo Ventures.
“Due to the management change, I will be transferred to global service planning office, smart-life business division of NTT Docomo.”
Inagawa has been president and CEO of Docomo Innovations in San Francisco since April 2013 where he has been responsible for four functions: including mobile network technology, network services innovation, Android product innovation, and business development and investment.
