Infogrid maps out series A round

UK-based building interior sensor technology producer Infogrid has secured $15.5m of series A funding from investors including JLL Spark, the corporate venturing and innovation arm of real estate services provider JLL.

The deal was led by venture capital firm Northzone and also featured Concrete VC, The Venture Collective and Jigsaw VC in addition to an unnamed asset manager and real estate investment group.

Infogrid offers smart building sensors that use machine learning to monitor indoor conditions including air quality and temperature, in addition to the performance of facilities such as communal toilets and storage refrigerators, potentially creating cost and energy savings.

The company’s customers include the UK’s National Health Service, and the technology can be implemented to estimate people density within indoor spaces, potentially aiding social distancing to prevent covid-19.

The series A round appears to be Infogrid’s first round of funding. It intends to use the proceeds to accelerate its growth strategy.
