InMotion Ventures, the venture capital arm of car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, has invested in 11 mobility and transport-related businesses during 2017, it has revealed.
The unit generally works with sectors such as mobility services, data analytics, travel and lifestyle, financial and insurance technology.
Recipients of funding from InMotion in 2017 included US-based ride-hailing platform Lyft, in which InMotion invested $25m alongside Jaguar Land Rover in June 2017.
Other US-based portfolio companies include carpooling services Go Kid and Splt; on-demand school bus operator Sheprd and parking rewards scheme Validated, while InMotion also invested in China-based car-pooling service Cove.
The UK-based investees were named as flexible car insurance platform By Miles; vehicle data analytics platform Synaptiv; coach-pooling service Zeelo; based travel data rewards developer Dovu and personal travel assistant Wluper.
