China-based technology company Insight Robotics has been awarded the top prize at the Entrepreneur of the Year at the IBM SmartCamp Global Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday.
Founded in 2009, Insight Robotics uses thermal imaging sensors and vision technology to detect forest fires. It was one of nine finalists selected from hundreds of startups that participated in IBM SmartCamp events around the world in 2014.
The event is part of the IBM Global Entrepreneur programme, an international initiative that brings together entrepreneurs, investors and experienced mentors.
IBM Global Entrepreneur offers up to $120,000 in cloud credits to eligible startups, and provides access to technology advisors and venture capital investors. as well as IBM technical and market support, free software and technology.
