The corporate venturing unit of US-based chip maker Intel has made two hires for its Israel office today.
Intel Capital has recruited Yair Shoham and Merav Weinryb, who will both be based in Tel Aviv. They join investment director Uri Arazy in the office.
Marcos Battisti, managing director of Western Europe and Israel, said: “The addition of two new members to our Israeli team is an indication of Israel’s abundance of innovative businesses and technologies. Yair and Merav both join Intel Capital with proven track records and significant experience, particularly in the Israeli market, that will add value to Intel Capital’s regional investment team.”
Prior to Intel Capital, Shoham was a general partner at Israel-based venture firm Genesis Partners, where he worked on seed and early stage investments in the information, communication and medical device sectors. He was previously co-founder of Israel-based technology companies Butterfly Communication and VDOnet.
Weinryb was a principal at venture firm Pitango Venture Capital, where she focused on investments in Israel’s High Tech industry. Before joining Pitango, Weinryb was an associate vice-president for corporate development and strategy at Comverse.
