US-based semiconductor technology provider Intel, is partnering with Singaporean government agency Spring Singapore to provide support for small and-medium-sized enterprises.
The aim of the programme is to create a Singapore-based network of companies developing products and services in the internet of things and wearables sectors.
Intel will provide technological assistance and business guidance for the businesses, as well as product architecture, intellectual property and business models.
The programme will be managed under Spring’s Partnership for Capability Transformation, an initiative where larger businesses collaborate with smaller companies on specific projects.
Spring will supply funding for participating businesses through Capability Development Grants, which provide up to S$30,000 ($23,000). Intel will contribute some assistance and recommendations to the qualifying process.
Intel and Spring are keen to expand the size of the programme, which has so far recruited only nine participating businesses.
