Intel helps Virtustream raise $15m

Intel’s corporate venturing unit has helped Virtustream, a US-based entreprise cloud company, raise $15m.

Intel Capital was joined in the series B round by venture firms Columbia Capital, Noro-Moseley Partners, TDF, and new investor, venture firm QuestMark Partners.

Virtustream said the funds would partly be used to enhance Xstream, the company’s cloud platform for businesses.

The company added it would use the money to expand from its offices in New York, Washington, London, and San Francisco, with strategic partnerships in China and Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

The round follows the company’s acquisition of rival Enomaly last month.

In July last year Virtustream raised $10m. The company was also backed in a $49.4m series A in 2010, with backing from some of the investors mentioned above, as well as venture firm Blue Lagoon Capital.
