US-based chipmaker Intel’s corporate venturing unit has helped US-based social dating network TheComplete.me raise $1.2m.
Intel Capital was joined in the seed round by PlentyOfFish, CrunchFund and angel investors Russ Siegelman, Ben Smith, Social Starts, Spark Unlimited, Parker Coddington Kevin Henrikson, Ali Jahangiri, William Lohse, and Konstantin Othmer.
TheComplete.me lets users social network to date.
Christine Herron, an investment director at Intel Capital, said: "TheComplete.me is the first service to get social network dating right. They leverage the unique capabilities of the social graph to drive not only personalized discovery, but also friction-free interaction between users."
Michael Arrington, a partner at CrunchFund and the founder of news provider TechCrunch, said: "Online dating is a stagnant industry begging to be disrupted. theComplete.me-this team and this product-are going to do that."
