Intel invests to help build Fortscale

Fortscale, the US-based developer of a data analytics-focused cybersecurity system, has raised $10m in a round co-led by Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor producer Intel, and venture capital firm Blumberg Capital.

The round also included Swarth Group, the private equity investor that invested in Fortscale’s $2m seed round in February 2013.

Founded in 2012, Fortscale has developed a cybersecurity platform for businesses that aism to utilise big data in order to make user profiles and behaviour easy to investigate.

The company intends to use the funding to expand its research and development, and engineering and analytics groups, and to promote partnerships. Additional capital will be invested in setting up headquarters in Silicon Valley, where it will move from New York, and to expand its Israel-based research and analytics teams.

Intel Capital director Uri Arazy led the investment, while managing director Ken Elefant also participated.
