Enlighted, a US-based provider of commercial lighting control solutions, has raised $20m in its series C round from a consortium including Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous US-listed chipmaker.
Venture capital firm RockPort Capital Partners led the C round, which included VC peers Draper Fisher Jurvetson and its DFJ JAIC affiliate and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
In October 2011, Enlighted closed a $14.2m round of financing from Intel Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
Enlighted’s previous round raised $2.1m in January 2011, while the firm secured $1.1m in seed funding over the two years prior to that at its launch.
The company said its customers, such as LinkedIn, Bank of New York, Google, Turner Broadcasting, JDSU, the City of San Jose, Hewlett-Packard and several Fortune 1000 companies, had reduced lighting energy costs by 50% to 75% in buildings outfitted with its system.
