CafeX Communications, a US-based developer of mobile and web advertising technology, has received a $21m series B round from backers including Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor company Intel.
An unnamed subsidiary of insurance provider USAA, Illuminate Ventures and angel investors joined the round.
Founded in 2013, CafeX previously secured $10.5m from investors including Illuminate Ventures, according to regulatory filings.
CafeX has developed a platform for real-time communication that can be run either in the cloud or a company’s existing IT infrastructure.
The series B funding will be used to further develop the platform as well as expand sales, marketing and engineering teams.
