HookLogic, a US-based ecommerce advertising company which operates a bidding exchange for brands to place their products at the top of search results across a network of retail sites, has raised $14.3m series B financing led by Intel Capital, the corporate venturing arm of microprocessor maker Intel, with participation from existing investor Bain Capital Ventures, the venture capital division of private equity firm Bain Capital, and former Yahoo and Admeld executive Michael Barrett.
Previously, HookLogic raised $9.5m series A financing from Bain Capital Ventures in September 2011.
The funding will be used to increase awareness of HookLogic’s format amongst brands that are already spending money on search, as well as to make new hires.
Rebecca Brown, Intel Media director, said: “The Retail Search Exchange has quickly become an incredibly efficient marketing vehicle. The platform enables Intel to promote the products we want and see closed loop measurement of purchase activity. The return on spend and overall impact have been tremendous.”
Jonathan Opdyke, chief executive officer of HookLogic, said: “Intel Capital really started with the idea that the more they can push the digital future, the better it is for Intel as a whole.”
