Intematix Corporation, a lighting company backed by Samsung Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the Korea-based conglomerate, and Presidio Ventures, the subsidiary of Japan-based conglomerate Sumitomo, has said it plans to list on a public exchange.

The company said it had initiated a confidential submission to US regulator the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 13.

In March, Intematix raised $16.2m from venture firms Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Crosslink Capital, and a new financial investor.

In 2008 the company raised $870,000 and $5.3m, according to two separate SEC filings. In 2009, the company raised $4m of a planned $10m round, according to another SEC filing.

In 2006 Intematix reportedly raised $16.5m in its series C with backing from Samsung Ventures and Crosslink, according to news provider EE Times. Presidio and venture firms Draper Fisher Jurvetson, East Gate Capital and Pacifica Fund also backed the round, EE Times said.

Intematix also raised $5m in 2003, according to an SEC filing.
