France-based data analytics software developer Intersec closed a $10m series C round backed by networking equipment manufacturer Cisco Systems on Tuesday.
Harbert European Growth Capital, a public-private fund managed by investment firm Harbert Management Corporation, and Omnes Capital also took part in the round.
Cisco was reported in December 2015 to have invested an undisclosed sum in Intersec as part of a strategic partnership. It is unclear whether that commitment is part of the current funding round.
Intersec produces big data analytics software that is able to consolidate datasets from different sources and provide insights in real time. Applications for the software include fraud management, customer-base management and business analytics.
The funding will help Intersec boost its operations and develop additional products targeted at the telecommunications sector and other industries.
Intersec raised €4m ($6m) in a 2011 series A round led by telecoms network operator France Telecom’s corporate venturing division, Innovacom, with participation from CM-CIC Capital Innovation.
Highland Capital Partners Europe led a $20m series B round in 2014, which also included existing, unnamed investors.
