Investors assist RetraceHealth in $6.5m round

US-based at-home and video-based primary care provider RetraceHealth, backed by corporates including healthcare IT and services firm McKesson, raised $6.5m in series A funding on Tuesday, according to a securities filing.

Specialist healthcare venture capital firm Lemhi Ventures led the round.

RetraceHealth was founded in 2013 by Thompson Aderinkomi following a frustrating and expensive healthcare experience with his own family. The company aims to remove the complexities of primary care in favour of a solely patient-focused experience.

In January 2016, health insurance provider Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and care provider HealthEast Care System took part in a $1m round, alongside McKesson’s corporate venturing division McKesson Ventures.

The earlier round was raised to grow the company’s footprint in Minnesota and beyond.

According to a regulatory filing, RetraceHealth also raised $500,000 in seed capital in May 2015.
