US-based content distribution network provider Cloudflare has raised a $110m series D round led by financial services firm Fidelity Research and Management.
Google Capital, the growth equity fund of internet company Google; Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of wireless technology producer Qualcomm; software company Microsoft; and search engine operator Baidu participated in the round.
Existing investors New Enterprise Associates, Pelion Venture Partners, Venrock, Union Square Ventures, and Greenspring returned for the round.
Established in 2009, Cloudflare operates a content distribution network for web content, as well as a range of security products such as a cloud-based firewall and a service to minimise the impact of distributed denial of service attacks.
Cloudflare will use the cash to attract more clients, develop products specifically aimed at large enterprises and expand into more markets.
The company has now raised a total of $182m in equity funding.
