Fort Robotics, a US-based company developing safety technology for autonomous systems, completed a $13m funding round yesterday that included Prologis Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of warehouse operator Prologis.
Venture capital firm Prime Movers Lab led the round, which also featured Quiet Capital, Lemnos Labs, Creative Ventures, Ahoy Capital, Compound, FundersClub and angel investor Mark Cuban.
Founded in 2018, Fort is working on a safety and security software platform for autonomous vehicles and robotics systems in areas such as warehousing as well as construction, agriculture and manufacturing. It will use the cash to expand its product range and double headcount.
Samuel Reeves, founder and chief executive of Fort, said: “We are excited to partner with our new investors to help position Fort at the forefront of this rapidly evolving space.
“The world is on the cusp of a new industrial revolution in mobile automation. With added investment and support, we will be able to rapidly scale the company to capitalise on the convergence of trend and opportunity to ensure that robotic systems are safely deployed across all industries.”
