Metamarkets, a US-based marketing analytics provider backed by internet company AOL, secured $15m yesterday in a series C round led by venture capital fund Data Collective.
Financial services provider City National Bank also participated in the round alongside venture capital firms Khosla Ventures, IA Ventures, True Ventures and Village Ventures.
Metamarkets has developed a software-as-a-service platform for real-time analytics and programmatic marketing. Its clients include media company News Corp and financial news publication Financial Times, as well as social media network Twitter and professional networking site LinkedIn.
AOL’s corporate venturing arm AOL Ventures contributed to a $15m series B round in 2012 that also included Khosla, IA Ventures and True Ventures. Metamarkets subsequently raised $5m in a 2013 round featuring IA, Bessemer Venture Partners and Khosla.
The company has raised $43.5m altogether, including $2.5m in seed funding in 2010 from AOL Ventures, IA, Village, True, Founder Collective and a range of angel investors.
