US-based party planning website Punchbowl, formerly known as Punchbowl Software, secured $580,000 of a planned $1m, on the 2nd of September, from undisclosed investors.
Intel Capital participated in Punchbowl’s series A round, which raised $2.1m, in September 2008. Venture capital firms Contour Venture Partners and eCoast Angels also participated. Intel Capital and eCoast also invested in Punchbowl’s October 2007 seed round.
Punchbowl offers a variety of party planning tools on its website including customised invitations, gift registry and a local vendor search. The funding comes in the wake of acquisitions the website has made including fellow party planning website Socializr and group travel website ImIn.
